Family sessions sound simple until you try to book one. Most studios charge premium prices for a single look; most outdoor photographers want a half-day commitment. We sit in between — on purpose.

Pick the session that fits the moment: a quick Classic Wall shoot for an updated wall portrait, a Petite for a little more variety, or the full Family session with two sets and five images for the whole crew. Up to six people are included, with hundreds of themed backdrops so the look is truly yours. Comfortable, unhurried, and built for kids to actually be kids.

We built our studio family offering around what Folsom-area families actually ask for: transparent pricing, flexible session sizes, and hundreds of backdrops to choose from. Want a fast, affordable wall portrait? The $59 Classic Wall shoot has you covered. Want the full gallery with multiple sets and outfit changes? The $99 Family session is the most versatile. Need to add grandparents or cousins for a multi-generation shoot? Tell us at booking and we'll add time and people — no surprise charges.

What holds true across every option: we lead with patience for the kids who need a minute, and we deliver photos that look like your actual family — not a stiff, posed version of it. The whole thing is climate-controlled, there's free parking right out front, and the end of the session feels less like a transaction and more like you got something back you can't fake with a phone.

After your shoot

How do I get my photos?

Your session fee includes the shoot and a set of edited digital images. To see the rest of your gallery and choose your favorites, there are two ways to go.

Come in for a viewing

All sessions require a classic viewing session, booked 4–10 days after your shoot, to proof your photos and make your selections.

Online galleries are not available — selections are made in person at your viewing session. Your viewing is at our Folsom studio — even if your session was on location.

Cancellation policy

All fees are non-refundable, but transferable if rescheduled 48 hours prior to your session. Sessions rescheduled within 48 hours are subject to a $25 service fee. Please call 916-280-5013 to reschedule your session.

Family Photoshoot FAQ

What's the largest group you can photograph in studio?

Studio sessions include up to 6 people in the base price. For 7 or more, just mention it at booking and we'll add time and adjust the per-person fee. For larger reunions, email or call the studio and we'll plan it with you.

What's the difference between Classic Wall, Petite, and Family?

Classic Wall ($59) is a quick shoot on one classic wall set with 3 images. Petite ($79) gives you one set of your choice with 3 images. The Family session ($99) is the most versatile — two sets, up to two outfit changes, and 5 images for the whole crew.

Can we choose our backdrops?

Yes — that's part of the fun. Classic Wall has four wall options (beige, white brick, black brick, or dreamlight); Petite lets you pick one set from our full library; Family lets you choose two. We have hundreds of themed backdrops to match your style.

How old do kids need to be?

Children should be at least 6 months old and able to sit independently, or accompanied by a guardian in the frame. Every age is welcome beyond that — we're used to wrangling wiggly toddlers.

What should we wear?

Coordinated, not matching. Skip all-white or all-black; pick a palette and add one accent color across the whole crew. We'll send a styling guide with your booking confirmation.

Do you photograph families outdoors too?

We do — see our On Location sessions for outdoor family portraits at five Sacramento-area settings. The studio is great for variety and climate control; on-location is great when you want the setting to be part of the story.
