Step one
Booking your session
Pick your session type and time online — browse options, see live pricing, and choose a slot from your phone. Spots fill fast, so booking early is the best way to secure your date.

Getting ready
Choose your backdrops
We have hundreds of hand-built, themed backdrops — classic, whimsical, or completely unique. Browse the Backdrop Search and send your favorites about 48 hours ahead so they're set and ready when you arrive. Most stand about 5 feet tall (perfect for children and seated portraits); for full-standing adult shots, just let us know so we can plan the set.
What to wear
Solid colors and coordinated (not matching) outfits photograph beautifully. Bring a backup outfit for little ones — especially for cake smash — and arrive fully dressed and photoshoot-ready so we make the most of your time.
First time with us? We'll have you complete a quick service agreement before your session — it only takes a minute and covers the basics.
Step three
The day of your visit
Plan to arrive about 5 minutes early, fully dressed and ready, so your whole session time goes to making magic. You'll find us at 1835 Prairie City Road #500 in Folsom, with free parking right out front and a comfy waiting area inside.
If plans change
Life happens — we get it. If you need to reschedule or cancel, just give us at least 48 hours' notice. Because we're a small studio that books back-to-back and holds your spot just for you, changes or no-shows inside 48 hours carry a $25 fee — and arriving more than 15 minutes late may mean finding a new date. A quick heads-up is all we ask, and we'll always do our best to help.

- Your chosen backdrop picks (sent ~48 hours ahead)
- A backup outfit for the kids — and one for you, just in case
- Snacks, water, and a favorite small toy or comfort item
- Your own cake for cake smash sessions
Leave at home
- Phones and cameras during the shoot — unless you've added Prepay & Save, we tuck personal photos and video away so everyone stays present (and your gallery stays the surprise!)
- A surprise extra crew — up to 6 people are included, so if your group is larger just give us a heads-up when you book and we'll make sure there's room and time for everyone
- The stress — we've got the props, the patience, and the giggles covered
A few session types have their own rhythm
- Newborn — best in baby's first couple of weeks; we provide all the wraps and props and go at baby's pace, pausing for feeds and cuddles.
- Maternity — studio gowns are available — arrive hair-and-makeup ready and bring your partner and kids.
- Cake Smash — bring your own cake and a change of clothes; we handle the themed set and the happy mess.
Step four
Seeing your photos
About a week after your session, you'll choose your favorite images. Most families come in for a relaxed, in-person viewing on the big screen — but if returning to the studio isn't easy, you have options. Here's how it works.
Your viewing appointment
Plan for about an hour (most families decide in 30 minutes). We'll confirm the time with you ahead — and just like your session, a viewing that's missed or moved without 48 hours' notice carries a $25 fee, since the time is held just for you.
What's included
Most regular sessions include 5 digital images — minis and monthly specials may include around three or vary by the promotion, so check the details when you book. Extra images are $35 each at your viewing.
Do I need to come back for a viewing?
We understand if you're busy. Many families skip the return trip and have their full gallery delivered online by choosing Prepay & Save — either while booking or right during the shoot. If you don't need every image, you're always welcome to pick your favorites in-studio at a viewing. And if you're traveling from far or need special arrangements, give us a call or text in advance and we'll try to accommodate where we can.

It's our most popular package, and it comes with extra perks: VIP club membership, expedited photos, a free monthly special, online delivery, and the freedom to take your own photos and video during the shoot (a favorite for newborn and cake smash). What if I need to reschedule?
Just give us at least 48 hours' notice and there's no problem at all. Because we're a small studio that holds your spot just for you, reschedules, cancellations, or no-shows inside 48 hours carry a $25 fee — for both sessions and viewings. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is for us to offer the time to another family.
Can I take my own photos or video during the session?
During the shoot we ask that phones and cameras stay tucked away, so everyone stays present and your final gallery stays a happy surprise — and our Giggle Engineers capture every moment for you. If you'd like to film it yourself, our Prepay & Save package includes the freedom to take your own photos and video — a favorite for newborn and cake smash families who want their own footage to keep.
How many people can come to my session?
Up to 6 people are included in your session. We're a small studio, so if your group is larger just reach out when you book — we'll make sure there's enough time and space for everyone, and let you know about any extra arrangements a bigger party might need.

We're at 1835 Prairie City Road, Suite 500, Folsom, CA 95630 — ground floor, with free parking right out front. Our studio is locked during newborn and maternity shoots, so please call before stopping by.
